COPPER AND OIL
In Copper & Oil, Sam Wallman's first solo exhibition, ideas of sustainability and human disconnect manifest in nine large, highly detailed political cartoons.
The city exists as a metaphor for both triumph and doom, simultaneously - freedom and oppression sit along side one another on each city street. With humour and urgency, Wallman attempts to penetrate his audience with a skyscraper, while the buildings overhead reach down to crush us with only our own free will.
Sam Wallman is a person from Melbourne who draws humorous pictures concerned with tired hope, the environment and the politics of renewal.
